The challenge: Create a usable space while at the same time conserve the area to meet community drainage requirements.

The solution: Use pressure-treated lumber, with spacing between each plank, and extend the front terrace without inhibiting water drainage.

This previously unusable area, due to steep terrain, was transformed into a very useful, private and easy-to-maintain terrace.

Here we see an inviting poolside area, but with no protection from the sun.

The created pergola, constructed using pressure-treated lumber, provides interest, and built-in seating for eight people, protection from the sun, and a wonderful place to relax.
